DFG Guidelines on the handling of research data in biodiversity research
The re-use of research data is becoming more and more relevant for meta-analyses, or studies of global interest or to answer questions about climate change. Similarly, the DFG began in 2010 to ask for a data management description as part of the funding proposal for a new project.
Due to the importance of this issue for biodiversity sciences, the Senate Commission on Biodiversity Research established an appropriate working group that also includes some GFBio members. This working group established guidelines for the management and re-use of data in biodiversity research which outline the DFG's expectations on reusable research data in the field of biodiversity.
