Why write a DMP?

A DMP helps you to ask all the right questions concerning data management ahead of time. By writing a DMP, you save a lot of time in the long run, you are aware of potential data management obstacles, and you increase the transparency as well as the integrity of your work. A well-structured DMP clarifies what data will be created, how it will processed, and documented. It covers data archiving and publication, licensing and access conditions for the scientific community and the public. Also, DMPs are increasingly required as a mandatory proposal part by research institutions and funding agencies.

What does a GFBio DMP look like?

The standard output of our DMP Tool is an automatically generated PDF file. It contains the information you provided, structured according to the categories (1) General Project Information, (2) Data Collection, (3) Documentation and Metadata, (4) Ethics and Legal Compliance and (5) Preservation and Sharing. While you can use this version as your DMP, it is not designed for attaching it unprocessed to your funding proposal. We highly recommend to request our personal DMP support for your GFBio-approved DMP.

All information stored in the DMP Tool is linked to your personal account. When you send a DMP support request to GFBio, your DMP is sent to the GFBio Helpdesk team and the GFBio experts will have access to your DMP. All DMP and other service requests are handled strictly confidentially.
